Jeremy Smith

Senior Pastor

Jeremy Smith has faithfully served at Good News since June 2015 and became Senior Pastor in July 2026. He is committed to the faithful exposition of God's Word, believing that the preaching and teaching of Scripture is the foundation of a healthy church. His passion is to help people know Christ, grow in biblical truth, and faithfully live out the gospel in every area of life.

Jeremy believes the local church is God's primary instrument for making disciples and is committed to equipping believers for ministry while developing the next generation of godly leaders. His desire is to see lives transformed by the power of the gospel and for every ministry of the church to exalt Jesus Christ and remain firmly rooted in the authority of God's Word.

Jeremy earned his Master's Degree in Religion and Theological Studies from Liberty University. Before becoming Senior Pastor, he served in a variety of ministry roles at Good News, including student ministries, discipleship, media, and church leadership. These years of ministry provided valuable opportunities to serve the church and helped prepare him for his current role.

Jeremy and his wife, Margie, have been married since June 1995 and have served the Lord together for many years. They were blessed with two children. Their son, Sean, went home to be with the Lord in October 2015 after a courageous two-year battle with colon cancer. Their daughter, Alyssa, is married to Caleb Lane, who faithfully serves as the church's full-time Associate / Youth Pastor. Jeremy and Margie are also grateful grandparents to Rosalee and Wesley, who are one of God's sweetest blessings in their lives.

It is Jeremy's prayer that Good News would be a church where Christ is exalted, the Scriptures are faithfully preached, believers are equipped to serve, and the gospel is proclaimed to the community and around the world—all for the glory of God.

Caleb Lane

Associate / Youth Pastor

Caleb Lane joined the pastoral staff at Good News in June 2022 and serves as the Associate / Youth Pastor. He is passionate about faithfully teaching God's Word, investing in the next generation, and helping people grow into mature followers of Jesus Christ. Caleb has a heart for building strong biblical foundations in the lives of students and encouraging families to make Christ the center of their homes.

Caleb earned his Bachelor's Degree in Religion and Theological Studies from Southeastern Free Will Baptist Bible College. Since coming to Good News, he has served in a variety of ministry roles, providing leadership in children's ministry, youth ministry, discipleship, and church outreach. His desire is to see young people develop a genuine relationship with Christ, stand firmly on the truth of Scripture, and become faithful servants and leaders within the local church.

Caleb and his wife, Alyssa, have been married since September 2018. They are grateful for the privilege of serving the Lord together and count it a joy to minister alongside the Good News church family. They have two children, Rosalee J and Wesley Sean, who are a constant reminder of God's goodness and faithfulness.

Caleb's prayer is that every person, regardless of age, would come to know Christ personally, grow in a deep love for God's Word, and use their God-given gifts to serve the Lord and make a lasting impact for His kingdom.
