Meet Our Team

Rev. Glen Johnson was converted as a college student while attending Ball State University in 1975. After completing ministerial training at Free Will Baptist Bible College in 1979, he began his first pastorate in his home church in Rolling Prairie, Indiana. In 1983, he married his wife, Lorri. They have been blessed with six children and eighteen grandchildren. Three sons-in-law are also ordained Free Will Baptist ministers serving at churches in North Carolina, Georgia, and California. Rev. Johnson has faithfully served as the senior pastor of Good News Free Will Baptist Church in Chesterfield, Virginia since 1990. He has conducted many revivals and spoken in numerous district, state, and national denominational meetings. His burden is to inspire Christians to live spiritually healthy lives and build spiritually healthy homes and churches.

Jeremy Smith began ministering at Good News in June 2015. He serves as the Associate Pastor overseeing the various ministries including: Student / Youth Ministries, Media / Information Technology and many other various duties. He received his Masters Degree in Religion and Theological Studies from Liberty University. He and his wife, Margie, have been married since June 1995. They were blessed with two children. Sean, who went home to be with the Lord in Oct 2015 after a two year battle with colon cancer and their daughter, Alyssa, who is married to Caleb Lane who also serves as the Children's Pastor on full time staff at the church.

Caleb Lane came on staff here at Good News Jun 2022. Caleb serves as the Children's Pastor overseeing various children's classes as well as teaching a 4th-5th grade Sunday School class. He also oversees the AWANA Program. He received his Bachelors Degree in Religion and Theological Studies from Southeastern FWB Bible College. He and his wife, Alyssa, have been married since Sep 2018. They have one daughter (Rosalee) who is 4 years old (born Dec 1, 2021) and one son (Wesley Sean) who is 1 year old (born October 13, 2024)

Jocelyn has been the secretary at Good News Church since  November of 2019.  Jocelyn is married to Eddy Soto who is a trustee of the church. Together they have four children.
